Next week (5/25 – 28) is our grand camping trip to Fort Wilderness and you can feel the tension growing…  The kids are impatient, the parents are scrambling making last minute preparations and the leaders juggling everything in between!

But not to worry because it’s going to be awesome adventure.  There’s so many activities for the whole family within Fort Wilderness that we won’t have enough time to do them all not to mention that we will be spending one (1) day at a park!!!

We urge everyone to get up to date with dues, trip fees and camp card sales at the next meeting – which will cover some last minute details of the trip.

Dutch Oven Cook off 2012

The 2011 raining Champion – our very own Christopher Bulgarin has defended his title once again in this years Dutch Oven Cook off this past Monday!

Pack 357 keeps the title once again for the second year in a row.  His winning dish was a Chianti Braised Short Rib with Sweet Petite Pea Risotto.

Several other Packs were in attendance with Entree’s and Desserts which from what I heard would have been a great place to be hungry :)

As Chris mentioned, special thanks goes out to Sebastian B., Nathan and Jeff Velez for being the Sous-chefs…

AKI Festival Recap

If you missed the All Kids Included festival on Saturday, May 5, 2012 then you definitely missed a good time.  This was sponsored by Miami-Dade County’ Department of Cultural Affairs.  It is estimated that over 3,000 people attended the event.  The kids certainly enjoyed all the things available including face painting, magic show, two (2) mainstage shows, rock wall and more.

We are certainly greatful to the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center for allowing us to host one of the food concessions.

Our Angus beef hamburgers and monster all beef hot dogs were a smashing hit which received rave reviews.   A big thank you to all the Cub Scouts and parents that made this possible.  We can’t wait for next years festival…

AKI Festival 2012

Are you ready for the “All Kids Included Family Arts Festival”? I hope so.  This free community based festival on May 5th, is brought to you by Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the new South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center.

Featuring Live Entertainment, Interactive Arts experiences, Give-aways, face painting, rock wall, entertainers and so much more!  Invite your family, friends, school mates and anyone else you can think of because it will be a fun filled afternoon.

Pack 357 was selected as one of the community vendors.  We will be serving Angus hamburgers and Kosher hot dogs in a meal box.  All money raised will be for the Pack!  Our Cub Scouts will be manning the station in their Class “A” uniform and take shifts so that they can also enjoy the festivities.  We ask that all parents come and volunteer their time to assist us during the event.  We will be discussing this more at our next Pack meeting so be sure to make it!
