The AKI Festival keeps getting better.  For those of you who don’t know, the All Kids Festival is sponsored by Miami-Dade County’ Department of Cultural Affairs and The Children’s Trust and provides a full day of activities and cultural experiences for children with and without disabilities.  This is also the Pack’s biggest fundraiser and we broke all the records.  This was due in part with the festival’ growth, which we estimate attendance at almost 5k and the other food vendor had an issue as was not present. The demand was so fierce, we had to do additional trips for food.

The burgers, chicken wings and fries were fantastic – trust me, I swallowed mine and we had many positive remarks.  Scouts were also able to enjoy this wonderful free festival and we cant thank South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center enough for their support!

BBQWell, we finally got the first fundraiser of the season completed and I gotta say that everyone did a fantastic job.  Many thanks to all the parents, leaders and of course Scouts who assisted in this BBQ.  We were invited back once again by the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center to host a pre-event cookout for the U.S. Jazz Ambassador band – a FREE event.

There was a ton of people and it really did look like the community came out to support us (as well as listening to some good music).  The Webelos handled the grill while the other Scouts did the prep, serving and customer service. Two of the Webelos (Anthony and Connor) were requested to perform the Color guard before the event.  Although we were unable to see them, Frank was able to take some pictures and will post them shortly.  They received a warm welcome and got a round of applause after the event.

At the end of it all, we covered our expenses, got free lunch, had some fun and made a few dollars for the Pack.  Enjoy the pictures and as always, if anyone has some pictures to share send them my way.  We also encourage you to check back often for if more pictures are added.
