Last Saturday several Scouts took part in community service at Camp Matecumbe.  We had a great turnout and a lot of fun.  The project finished a bit earlier than anticipated as there was many volunteers so our Bear leader, Mr. Kevin took us into the brush and gave us a great tour where I’m sure everyone learned something new; I know I did.  I’m very proud of all the participants and hope to plan more of these for the Pack this year.

Enjoy the pictures!

The AKI Festival keeps getting better.  For those of you who don’t know, the All Kids Festival is sponsored by Miami-Dade County’ Department of Cultural Affairs and The Children’s Trust and provides a full day of activities and cultural experiences for children with and without disabilities.  This is also the Pack’s biggest fundraiser and we broke all the records.  This was due in part with the festival’ growth, which we estimate attendance at almost 5k and the other food vendor had an issue as was not present. The demand was so fierce, we had to do additional trips for food.

The burgers, chicken wings and fries were fantastic – trust me, I swallowed mine and we had many positive remarks.  Scouts were also able to enjoy this wonderful free festival and we cant thank South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center enough for their support!

This years Baynanza was a great success.  We were able to remove over 2,500 lbs of debris over at Palmetto Village!  A total of 8 Scouts participated and worked diligently to clean the park and mangroves from debris.  The Wolves were represented by Luke, Zane, William and Marcus and Webelos were represented by Zachary, Connor, Daniel, Dylan and Tony.  Great job guys…
